The short answer
Choose the Eid crescent theme in the Style tab. The code is redrawn with a crescent and star between its dots and a beaded ring around it, error correction moves to level H, and it stays a standard QR code that ordinary phone cameras read. Print it at least 5 cm (2 in) across the ring, keep the light center behind the dots, and use a dynamic code so the same print works through Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr and beyond.

How to make an Eid QR code
Map the season, not just the day
Ramadan iftar menus and timetables, charity appeals, Eid prayer times and directions, greetings and gift orders can all come from one set of print.
Create a dynamic code
Save a dynamic URL code for each printed item. You can switch the page as the month moves from iftar to Eid.
Apply the Eid crescent theme
In Style, open Holiday & art themes and choose Eid crescent. A light disc covers the code’s margin and a beaded ring circles it, so the decoration never crowds the dots.
Check the code, not the ring
Measure the square code inside the ring. It should be at least 2.5 cm wide, which makes the ring about 5 cm across.
Proof on the real stock
Eid cards and gift boxes often use gold foil on deep green or navy stock. Keep the code on its light center and scan a printed sample.
Size, distance and placement
- Code type
- Dynamic URL code with the Eid crescent theme; standard QR, level H error correction
- Greeting card or gift tag
- At least 5 cm (2 in) across the ring, so the code inside is about 2.5 cm
- Iftar menu or table card
- Read at 30–50 cm: the code itself 3–4 cm (1.2–1.6 in)
- Mosque or community notice board
- Read from 1–2 m: the code itself 10–20 cm (4–8 in)
- Charity appeal
- Link to the organization’s own donation page; the code itself does not take payments
- Dates
- Eid al-Fitr is expected around 10 March 2027 and 27 February 2028, subject to moon sighting
- Contrast
- Dark dots on the light center; the gold crescent and ring are decoration
Why a dynamic code fits Ramadan and Eid
The dates move with the moon sighting, and the needs change across the month: iftar times and menus at the start, charity appeals in the last ten nights, prayer times and greetings on Eid itself. A static code would need a new print for each stage. A dynamic code lets one card, poster or menu follow the season, and if Eid is confirmed a day later than planned you only edit the page. The crescent theme is free on every plan; blending your own artwork into the code is a Pro feature.
Common mistakes
Tip: print the charity’s name and web address under an appeal code. People are cautious with codes that lead to payments, and a visible address builds trust.
Frequently asked questions
Can a QR code have a crescent moon design and still scan?
Yes. The crescent and star sit between the dots that the scanner reads, the corner markers stay solid and error correction is set to H. Check a printed proof before you order.
Does the Eid theme work for Eid al-Adha as well?
Yes. The theme is a crescent and star, not tied to one Eid. With a dynamic code you can repoint the same print from Eid al-Fitr to Eid al-Adha.
Can people donate through the QR code?
The code opens a page. Point it at your organization’s own donation page or payment provider; QR Maker does not process payments.
How big should a QR code on an Eid card be?
Keep the square code at least 2.5 cm wide, about 5 cm including the decorative ring, on a light, matte part of the card.
